Blackacre leaving playtest phase soon
Greetings, Travellers!
Apologies for the long silence, but I've been working on the game and thought it would be better to make several large updates instead of making an announcement each time I finished a chapter. The good news is that the art is 95% done, as is all of the core content! I'm currently in the phase of editing and rewriting old chapters to make things more coherent. At the pace I'm going I'll be done by either august or September should nothing interfere. I'm going to start working on a printed out test copy, as well as slowly start scouting for a publisher. In all likelihood I'll print out a few dozen physical copies and sell them at conventions.
As for the major changes:
- I added several spreads inspired by Mörg Börg that are meant to set the tone and let the book breathe a bit, specifically the prologue.
- Added a new chapter featuring the Lodge of Travellers. A mysterious organisation that recruits the player characters to hunt down various cults that threaten the fabric of reality. The character creation system is rather open ended, so I kept running into the problem during my playtests where every member of the group would run off into their own direction. The Lodge is there to aid the Warden to gently guide the story, while avoiding railroading.
Now that I'm getting close to two years of working on the book, I've got a lot on my mind. Specifically the types of things I would have done differently if I had to start over. Suppose it's a natural part of the creative process.
